FerryList Privacy Policy

Welcome to FerryList, a secure, local-first encrypted application developed by the FerryList Team ("we," "our," or "us"). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we process (or do not process) your personal information when you use our application.

Core Principle: Zero-Data Collection & Local-First Execution

FerryList is a "Local-First" offline-only encrypted application. We do not operate any backend cloud servers. We never collect, upload, store, transmit, or share your data in any form. All of your assets, wishes, letters, and settings are saved securely and exclusively on your local device.

1. Permission Usage and Privacy Protection

To provide core security and convenient features, FerryList may request the following system permissions. Our usage of these permissions is strictly restricted to your local device:

• Biometric Authentication (Face ID / Touch ID): Used only to verify your identity when opening the App, ensuring unauthorized persons cannot access your vault. The verification process is performed entirely by the iOS/Android secure hardware module, which returns only the success/failure result. Our App does not access, collect, or store your biometric data (such as face maps or fingerprints).
• Photo Library & Media Access: Requested only when you actively choose to attach photos or videos to your wish cards or letters. The selected media files are encrypted using high-strength algorithms and stored inside the App's local container. They are never transmitted to any external server.
• Local Notifications: Used to trigger backup reminders locally on your device without using any internet connection.

2. Data Security and Encryption

We use industry-standard AES encryption to protect your assets, text, and media files locally. Only you possess the PIN and memory key required to decrypt your data. You are solely responsible for keeping your PIN and keys safe. Since we do not operate a server, we have no means of retrieving your password or decrypting your data if you lose them.

3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

FerryList does not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising tracking tools, or commercial statistics packages. We do not share any data regarding your device, behaviors, or files with any third party.

4. Data Deletion and App Reset

Since your data is stored entirely on your local device:

• You can permanently and immediately erase all FerryList data by uninstalling the application or selecting "Clear Storage" in your device's system settings.
• We also provide an option within the App settings to physically wipe the local database. Once executed, the action is irreversible.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Since the app does not connect to the network, we encourage you to review the policy on our public website. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting.
