FerryList Terms of Service

Thank you for using FerryList, a secure, local-first encrypted application developed by the FerryList Team ("we," "our," or "us"). Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms" or "Agreement") carefully before using the App. By using FerryList, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services & Operational Mechanism

FerryList is a local-first, offline-only encryption utility designed for archiving asset records, managing personal wishlists, and generating legacy messages (Ferry Letters). FerryList does not operate on cloud servers. We do not provide cloud synchronization, cloud backup, or any network-dependent data services. All of your data is stored strictly on your local device.

2. User Security & Password Custody Responsibility

Due to the serverless architecture and high-strength local encryption of FerryList, you must understand and agree to the following conditions:

• Sole Password Responsibility: The PIN and memory key you set are the only keys to decrypt your local vault. We do not store your passwords, and we cannot retrieve, reset, decrypt, or repair your vault under any circumstances.
• Data Loss Risk: If you forget your password, or if your device is damaged, lost, wiped, or the App is uninstalled, your stored data will be permanently lost and cannot be recovered. You are solely responsible for any direct or indirect loss resulting from password loss or device damage.
• Manual Backup Obligation: You are obligated to perform manual backups regularly using the App's "Export Backup" feature, which generates an encrypted .ferry file. You must store this file in a secure external environment and remember your backup recovery password.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use this App in compliance with all local laws and regulations. You shall not use this App to store any illegal, threating, or infringing content. You assume full legal responsibility for all data stored in the App container on your device.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

1. Disclaimer: This software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We strive to maintain the safety and stability of local data writing and encryption; however, due to technical constraints, system updates, or force majeure, we do not warrant that the application will be bug-free or that data loss will never occur.

2. Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, loss of profits, business interruption, or loss of information) arising out of the use or inability to use the software, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

5. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the applicable laws, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.
